PostSubject: Beren travels to Esker   Sun Sep 02, 2012 11:03 am

Beren's arrival to Solace was both a relief, due to his travels coming to an end, as well as unrepresentative from his home in Ice Reach. The grass felt odd altogether, the dirt was soft, temperature was warm, and the snow and ice was in liquid form. But Beren knew he needed to leave his homeland. The healing abilities that Beren possessed was needing to be put to use for people in need.

A priest Beren was, but he was also very meditative. He parted from Solace in search of the remote village of Esker where many monks took refuge. Hopefully this village would be a place of solitude where he could go into deep mediation, and be able to put more focus into the elements so as to become a greater healer.

It seemed that Esker was mere miles away when he stumbled upon three men. They appeared to be monks. Beren smiled at them and walked over to greet them. But they were in no mood for a conversation, and considered Beren a threat. They held nothing back and attacked Beren with the intention of killing him. At first Beren ran for it, but he could not outrun them. Calling upon the divine for assistance the three men fell to the ground. Beren made himself invisible the rest of the way to Esker. "What if Esker is overrun with these men?" he thought to himself. When reaching Esker, there was no sign of the twisted men that Beren found in the outskirts of the village. Esker was actually quite remote, and did not have many monks dwelling in its interior at all. Beren located a few monks though, and found acceptance among them. But the twisted men not far from the village continued to haunt him. To Beren they were a threat to this village, and they must be stopped. He worked slowly to not attract too many enemies upon him at once. One at a time they fell, but there were plenty more. "I can not do this alone." he thought to himself.

Silence lay across the land south of Haven. Beren took to his usual, listening to the wind as well the water in the river. For it was water and air that he placed so much focus in. Esker had very few monks within its borders to defend themselves, and the cult members in the outskirts were only gaining strength in numbers. Time was running short, and Beren had to make a decision quickly about whether he would do this alone or try to seek aid. He looked to the east and saw the city of Haven. "Waste of time to ask them......they may lie and take Esker for themselves." he thought. Then he looked south at the Qualinesti woods. "They have suffered enough. They need a time of peace." Finally he looks toward the Dark woods, but realized the Druids had troubles of undead in their own woods.

No one in sight. All was desolate, which Beren was well used to having lived in Ice Reach for so long. "It be decided then, I go and see what I can do." He made his way approaching Esker from the south and fighting off any cult member he came across. But something rather strange occurred. Something out of place. At least in Beren's mind. A beast appeared with a multitude of birds and other various creatures at his command. Beren fought them off along with the beast save for one creature that remained alive. A goblin of which wore clothing making him look as if he came from somewhere cold. The goblin was taller than average and was all bundled up. Beren did react with violence for it did not seem to be of any threat, just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"Bad goat thing." the goblin said as he approached the dead beast that Beren had just slain.
"Dangerous place for a goblin." said Beren.
"This place looks like fun." said the goblin.
"Cult be dangerous. Why you here?" Beren said with a curious look.
"Why am I here? I don't know." *pulls out a small odd looking device and shakes it. "Bad device you took me to the wrong place again."
With that the Goblin disappeared.
"Strange." thought Beren. But he must press on. More work to be done.

Just then a man appeared out of no where. Beren was not accustomed to having his eyes fail him, but fail they did. He did not see this man coming until the man was right in front of him. It turned out to be Majere. Majere thanked Beren for his aid in defending Esker, and there was a promise to place more monks in Esker to keep guard. This satisfied Beren, and both Majere and Beren went their separate ways.
