Talash had sent his spies forward. He wanted full reports ready by the time he arrived.
He was only a day out of Flotsam. He stood upon the boat, looking over the water. He was going to land on the docks, and make his presence known.

The ship pulled slowly along the dock. The crewmen threw the ropes down, and the dockhands secured the ropes. Talash disembarked the boat, and strode towards the main city. He took a look around. No one was there to meet him. He knew he would meet no resistance. The citizens were not stupid enough. He spent the day walking the city, looking at various things. The next day would be the interesting part.

At dawn, he recieved a light knock on the door to his inn room. "I am awake, now enter." he called. A soldier came in the door and stood to attention and saluted. Talash acknowledged him, and bid him to report.
"Sir, the forward scouts have returned. They await you downstairs to deliver their reports." Talash nodded, and dismissed the soldier. With a salute, the soldier left, closing the door behind him.
Talash grabbed his helm, and secured his sword to his belt. He left his room, and descended the stairs to the main room of the tavern. Guards were placed to protect the makeshift headquarters. All stood to attention. He waved them off, and made his way to the bar. "May I have a platter of eggs, potatoes, a hunk of ham, biscuits, and a mug of tea please. I am very hungry, so do not skimp on the food please." he said to the tavern attendant.
The tavern attendant nodded, and went to the kitchen.

Talash went to a table in the back corner, and placed his back to the wall, then motioned the scouts over, gesturing them to sit. They did so without hesitation. The lone barmaid made her way to the table with a mug of hot tea, and placed it before Talash. He looked to the woman and noded his thanks. He then gave her the coin for the tea, and tiped her an extra steel piece for herself. The scouts, waiting were antcy it seemed. But Talash would not begin until his breakfast came. He read over reports, and other documents that he needed to until his breakfast arrived. Once it did, he nodded. It was a large breakfast. He began eating hungrily. He then motioned for the scouts to begin their reports. They did so
Talash listened to the various reports while he ate. If an issue was reported, he would give his orders on it, to handle the situation immediately. As he was finishing his food, a scout reported an elven settlement to the south. A small settlement, but elves none the less.

Talash mulled this over for a short time. Finally he decided he would pay this colony a visit. He ordered the Captains to ready their men for a march. An hour later, Talash was riding out of the Southwestern gate. He rode all day. Keeping a steady pace, only stopping for short intervals for the troops to rest and eat. At sundown, he had covered neraly 40 miles. Th scouts reported the elven settlement was only a short ride away, maybe an hour. Talash didnt want to take chances, even though he figured there would not be much resistance. He ordered camp be set for the night. He pulled his bedroll from the horse, and found a suitable tree to lay his roll down. Some of the Captains set up their tents, and offered to have soldiers set up a command tent for Talash, but he refused. He was a soldier, and did not need the comfort of plush pillows, or a padded cot to sleep on. Some of the soldiers, seeing this, brought their bedrools over by him, but kept a respectful distance. They would guard their commander this night, for even though he was leading them, he was also one of them.

The next morning, Talash was awake and suited before dawn. He lit a fire, and set a pot to steep for his tea. He ate his meal of rations and tea in silence. The camp stired, and began to pack. An hour after sunrise, the troop was on the march. They made easy time, not wanting to exert themselves so early.

An hour or so later, Talash looked down from the rise upon the elven camp, nestled in a light wooded region. He ordered his men forward. Down the rise they marched. Horns blew, Elves could be seen rushing to defend. Talash rode calmly. The elves came forard, ready to fight. Archers let loose their arrows, some finding their mark, others deflected, some missing.
Talash gave the order, and the soldiers charged. The elves met them, and the battle ensued. It was a short battle.... Many elves lay dead, some soldiers as well. Talash, cleaned his blade of blood, and strode into the camp of Elves. The elves were rounded up, and brought to the center of their settlement...

"My Name is Talash Ashara. The elves that lie dead, are that way due to their own foolish nonsense. Your fellows attacked first with arrows. So do not hold anger at me, for their deaths. I am here to proclaim to you now, the Dark Queen, has granted a repieve for the elven peoples. Those who wish to serve her, shall be welcomed to do so. Any that do not, but do not raise arms against her forces, shall be allowed to live in peace, but will be watched. Those who raise arms against her, shall be viewed, and treated as the enemy. You know what that means. All you need do is look around for confirmation. With this edict said.. who shall continue to refuse? Those that will worship the Dark Queen of their own free will, step forward."

He waited, as many hesitated, but eventually stepped forward. Their heads were down, but they knew it was better than death. After those who came willingly were secured, Talash ordered the camp to be burned..

"Those of you, who refuse, shall have your homes burned for your insolence, but shall keep your lives. Run back into the forrest, and hide if you wish."

A commotion to the right drew Talash's attention. A lone elf came from no where and took two soldiers easily. He fought with a tenacity, not known by many. Talash watched the elf, as he was surrounded. He had no hope of victory, but he was determined all the same. The elf took strike after strike, but did not quit. After several moments of feints and dodging, the elf was struck by a mace in the back and went down. The soldiers pounced on him, ready to drive home the killing blow, when Talash ordered them to hold. Talash walked forward, and commanded the elf to be picked up. He studied the elf for a moment. His left eye was swollen shut, a gash on his right eye. Blood dripped from many wounds...

"Why did you fight? You knew you had no chance of winning, so why?" The elf spoke something in elven, but Talash did not understand. "I admire your bravery and tenacity elf. So I shall grant you a quick death." At this time, a woman came running over, yelling with tears streaming down her face. She pushed passed the soldiers and clung to the elf's neck weeping. Talash knew this woman was most likely the lover of the elf. He ordered the guards to take the woman away.

"It seems she cares for you, So I shall not kill you. Instead, I shall test your resolve. You will be left with nothing. Should you by some grace of the gods, survive, and find your lover, then I shall return her to you. But for now... I shall keep her as my slave. It is only because of your heart I do this elf. Good bye... and good luck."

Talash ordered the women chained and placed on the wagons with the other elves, and slaves. He then ordered the elf man stripped naked. He was tied to a tree by his arms, outstretched behind him. It was very uncomfortable by the look on the elfs face. His legs were also bound to the tree, and a rope tied around his neck. All the weapons, food, and supplies were taken as the village burned. The elfs blood dripped to the ground. Soon enough, the wild animals would come.

Talash left the settlement, and headed back north towards Flotsam. He boarded his boat, with many elves following. Some chained. He took the long trip back to Sanction. The marched his way to Neraka..... it had been an eventful trip.

Tied to the tree, watching his wife chained and dragged away the elf knew despair. His family Slaughtered, his home burning, everything destroyed that he had made in his life, GONE.

As his blood drains, something touches him, a heat not born of the flames beginning to lick at his bound form. He would find a way to have his revenge. Summoning the last bit of his strength, he waited, allowing the flames to brush against him,
saving his strength for one last chance to escape. As the flames lick his flesh, he finally feels the ropes binding him start to burn. with a fury he had never before known, he wrenches his arms, dislocating both shoulders, but the ropes weakened by the flames part and he falls to the ground. Untying his legs he crawls from the ruins of his village, hoping to find help. His wounds finally catch up to him and he falls into a troubles sleep.

The Elf awakens to Pain, more intense pain than he has ever known. He opens his eyes to moonlight, and the sound of a patrol nearby. Taking what cover he could he prays he goes unnoticed. The Minotaur Stomps through the small clearing, kicking the branches out of his way. The Elf is kicked with a branch, and sails a short distance through the clearing. Instantly surrounded by a small patrol of Blue Armored Draconians, the elf knows he is as good as dead. Hoping to disappear, he prays for any assistance to survive to avenge his family. Gathering what little strength left him he Lashes out at the Minotaur, Grabbing the horns hovering above his head, he pulls himself upright, then with a savagery he did not know he possessed, he Rips the horns from the head of the mino. Swinging the horns as a pair of clubs he whirls and attacks everything in his path, not noticing the fact that he seems to disappear between each attack. the patrol, swings their weapons wildly trying to save themselves from something they do not understand, but to no avail. a few minutes later, he stands alone, surrounded by the shredded remains of the patrol, a fire in his heart, and the taste of blood on his lips.

softly he speaks, in a voice raspy from the smoke and damage, "vengeance"
